UTCB - Nature-Based Water Treatment Piloted in Bucharest

In the pilot site located in Bucharest, Romania, the AWARD project is testing how nature-based solutions can be used to treat and reuse urban stormwater collected from rooftops and streets. This pilot investigates simple, low-cost filtration methods inspired by natural processes, assessing their effectiveness against Romanian and European water quality standards.

The AWARD_HEU General Assembly recently took place in Bucharest, Romania, gathering key partners to discuss progress and next steps in sustainable water management. Hosted by the Universitatea Tehnică de Construcții București (UTCB), this multi-day event featured a series of in-depth presentations, strategic discussions, and insightful field visits. The event fostered strong collaboration and innovation in the field of Alternative Water Resources (AWRs), reinforcing the project's mission to develop sustainable water solutions across Europe.

AWARD participation at Expo Apa2024 event

AWARD partners, BDG & UTCB presented AWARD and our Demo Case#1 at the Expo Apa2024 event, which took place in Brasov, Romania from the 11 to 13 June 2024. 

The aim was also to start the creation process of AWARD Local Water Forum.
